Ireland in December 2010

In December 2010 Murray decided to take the staff of Young Living Europe to Ireland to have the office Christmas Party. We were able to get inexpensive tickets and so we all flew to Dublin and enjoyed the weekend together. We stayed in the Clontarf Castle which had been converted into a Hotel. (google for further info - it's pretty interesting) We held the party in one of the banquet rooms and enjoyed the opportunity to see a little bit of Ireland.

We enjoyed a tour around the city in an open top double decker bus. It was dang cold, but we enjoyed the experience none the less. The bus took us through the city center and stopped at each of the sights of interest. The next day we took a tour bus that treated us to an ocean view as well as a visit to another castle. I wish I could remember the name, but alas, my memory fails me - again.

We flew home Sunday evening and had a very funny experience, compliments of Murray. As we were about to get on the plane we noticed that Ryan Air had decided to check the sizes of our bags to make sure that they met regulation. For those bags that did not pass, there would be a 100 Euro charge. We had already had frustrations with the airline on the way to Ireland and I could see another ugly confrontation brewing. Each passenger was being asked to put their bags in a metal "cage" that would determine if the bag was within regulation. Murray had a bag that was clearly too fat. Everyone was nervous and frustrated that we were being put through this and I was waiting for the explosion to hit when they told Murray that he would have to pay the 100 Euros. Murray however, had had quite enough of their "crap" and said nothing - walked up to the cage, slammed the bag into it and pulled it back out in one swift motion and left 3 employees standing there with their jaws hanging open and looking stupified. You should have heard the laughter as we walked down the hall towards the airplane.

Ireland Adventure

We pulled up in fron of the Hotel and all I could say was, "Seriously, we get to stay here?" I couldn't believe that our hotel was a refurbished castle. We all loved it! What an adventure.

We toured this castle that was lived in until 1979. Wouldn't it be great if I could remember the name of it - I guess I should do better at keeping a journal or posting my blogs much earlier!

The men folk. Murray, no doubt, is asking the question, "Is that the best you can do?" He's always great to get us the best price on everything!

Can you believe that this is December? It is still so very green in the winter. I hope that I will get the opportunity to see Ireland in the summer.
